Millie's Heartbreaking Story

A dog feeder found two stray dogs living in the riverside park since beginning of 2012; they were companions to each other. Feeder named these two dogs Milk and River respectively. In the end of 2012; a female 3-month-old puppy was also abandoned at the same park, feeder named her “black bean”, later to become Millie. River adopted Millie furthermore protects both Millie and Milk, and he is also generous to share food with them especially Millie is still a puppy.

One day, the cloudburst caused a terrible flood and then resulted in a drought when Millie was 5 months old. Feeder went to riverside to find these three dogs during the drought, River and Milk have been found but Millie was disappeared. Feeder kept searching for Millie for a week, she was losing hope day by day, and thought Millie died in the flood. Luckily, they found Millie on the 7th day. Three of them regained happy days after flood, but the happy days didn’t stay long. The neighborhood of riverside park is basically not a “pet friendly” neighborhood. Some local residents reported aggressive dogs to government to catch stray dogs of riverside. So most likely, innocent and friendly dogs such as River, Milk and Millie would be caught and euthanized as well. A very nice lady decided to rescue these three friendly dogs before they got caught. After then, they have been sent to a private shelter where they keep dogs in cages all day. Millie was 7 months old at the time. River and Milk are lucky, both them were adopted soon. No one adopted Millie, so she was left for 20 months in the private shelter until a volunteer is willing to foster her. River’s owner knows the story of River and Millie, so he brought River to visit Millie from time to time before Millie got a foster home. Every time Millie jumped to top of crates with whimpers to watch River’s leaving after short reunion. She knows River has a home and Milk too, so she desires a home somewhere and someone who will love her forever. She is 3 years old now, and has been waiting over two years.
