MILLA
Jindo mix | spayed female | 1 years old | 24 lbs

My Story
Milla is a rescue from Jeju Island, South Korea. Due to increased cost of transport, adoption donation is a minimum of $525 for adult dogs from Jeju Island.
Milla was abandoned with her puppy, Tiffany, at the front of the only animal shelter on Jeju island. It is also a high kill shelter that gives no more than 10 days to live. Her puppy, Tiffany, has been adopted and now lives in San Francisco. Milla would be so happy to meet her puppy again.
My Personality
Milla’s life has been complicating. She has two microchips in her body, which means she was abandoned at least twice and gave birth while she was adopted. Milla is very friendly to all people and loves to make eye contacts and smile at you. She loves your warm touches and be near to you.
However, Milla needs some work on how she plays with other dogs. She gets overexcited and charges toward at the other dog but, she doesn't attack other dogs. She wants to play so badly but does not know how strong she is.
When Milla and other dogs use their mouths to play, chewing on each other, Milla sometimes chews too hard not knowing how strong she can bite. She doesn't hurt the other dog, but usually the different dog barks or screams that it was painful. Then Milla gets surprised at the sharp reaction and walks away.
Also, foster is always watching Milla when she plays with other dogs. Milla quickly stops playing rough when the foster tells her to stop doing it and play gently.
We think Milla needs someone who I experienced with training dogs.
Milla doesn’t have separation anxiety, but she doesn’t want to be alone in a separate place for a long time.
The foster used to keep her in a separate room on the other side of their house. Milla was scared of being alone in a dark place at night, so she put a lamp there to keep it bright. Then Milla had no trouble sleeping at night alone, but after being alone for several hours (about 7 hrs), she barked for somebody’s attention showing she wants to get out and play.
Commands learned: COME, SIT, STAY (for a short period of time, but increasing)
SOCIALIZATION QUICK FACTS
Comments: NOT TESTED WITH CHILDREN BUT GOOD WITH ALL PEOPLE SO FAR. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 15.
Milla needs to learn how to introduce herself to other dogs. Needs an experienced dog handler or someone who is willing to take Milla to training & socialization courses.
DAILY ROUTINE QUICK FACTS
Comments: Only goes potty outdoors.
In leash training -Milla used to tug a lot on the leash but has improved a lot. We recommend adopters purchase the easy walk harness and use it in conjunction with a martingale collar.
Milla is crate trained. She sleeps in her crate for daytime naps and at night.
