KUMA

shiba inu | neutered male | 3.5 years old | 37.5 lbs

My Story

Kuma’s adoption donation will be a minimum of $750 which will be used to support Huang Mama’s Private Shelter in Beitou, Taiwan. Adopter will be required to enroll in training sessions with Kuma as he will need consistent behavior training.

Kuma was bought at 6-weeks old. His owner is bankrupt by failed business and divorced with wife, Kuma was the sacrifice in an unsuccessful life of owner. Kuma was spoiled by previous owner, and didn't get along with other dogs at outside since he was the single fur kid in family. We sent him to foster home to learn the manners inside the house and socialization. Under a consistent and experienced handler, Kuma learned manners in the household and how to socialize with other dogs. Now he is ready to be re-homed with an experienced dog handler.

My Personality

Kuma is stable dog with consistent training as he is very stubborn and independent. In his current foster home environment, he is well behaved inside the house, with no chewing or barking issues. With an appropriate handler, Kuma can be good with young kids, and gets along with dogs and cats, either in public places or indoors. However, Kuma is human and pet selective so breed experience and training experience is highly preferred. Kuma will make a great companion pet for an adopter experienced with Asian dog breeds.

SOCIALIZATION QUICK FACTS

Comments:  Kuma dog-selective. Which in behavioralist terms means he is selective about the kind of dogs he gets along with.

Children should be over the age of 14 and possess a have a good understanding of dog behavior as well as a calm demeanor.

Kuma currently lives with a cat in his foster. He shows interest in the cat but the cat is familiar with living with several foster dogs. Kuma may not be a good fit for a cat that is not used to living with other dogs.
