My Story

Bruce and his siblings were found as stray baby puppies in Jordan and brought to the US to find their forever homes. Bruce is a smart and loyal pup that has completed two training programs and has impeccable obedience. He is housebroken, crate trained, great with other dogs and solid in his obedience training. He can be shy and avoidant being approached too quickly by unfamiliar people, but with a slow introduction he has no problem warming up and opting into engagement on his own terms.

My Personality

Canaan dogs are natural livestock guardians and herders, and thus Bruce does have some alert-barking behaviors in the home.

Bruce is very food motivated and does have resource guarding behaviors around food and high value chews/toys, and this will need continued management in his future home. He is quite desensitized to city sounds and busy areas but can be a bit anxious in these environments, so he would do best in a less busy/urban environment. Bruce is naturally mild mannered and low key. He is very gentle and sweet, and would be happy to sit on the floor next to your feet for hours at a time.

Bruce has been gentle and tolerant of children when he has met them, but due to his resource guarding behaviors we would recommend a home without children. He has not been tested with small animals.

The ideal home for Bruce is one that can commit to continued professional training to upkeep his obedience, work on his resource guarding, and provide the structure and management needed at home to help him live a balanced and fulfilled life!
