Amber's Story

Amber, the girl with striking (you guessed it) Amber eyes!

Amber was surrendered to us - Her family is moving and decided to leave her behind. Adopted out by an individual (information unknown) two years ago, it appears Amber spent her entire two years tied out in the yard. Thank goodness she was in our care before the rains this winter, otherwise she would have been out in the cold this year too! With no outings, no socialization, for two years Amber knew nothing of what a family dog should know or enjoy, only her little yard in which she was always alone.

Now in a loving foster home, she has made strides and is proving to be such a cuddle bug. She has a zest for life and a playful energy that for the first time in her life, she is exhibiting. An absolute sweetheart with a gentle soul and extraordinary resilience.

Get to Know Amber

Her first night with me, she gently pawed my arm to nudge me closer to her mouth. It was very endearing. She is so gentle and a little timid, but has a playful puppy-like side to her too. She is perky and definitely very loyal! Amber likes to follow me around the house, and gets a little jealous and tries to nudge her way in when my other dog is getting attention. She loves to play, is athletic, very light on her feet, and eats like a pig! She came to us a little underweight but has gained a few pounds. She is a beautiful pup that gets noticed on our walks, has stopped tugging on leash too. She has been so sweet since Day 1, her adopter will be very lucky to have her!
