YORK

chesapeake bay retriever mix | male | 4-5 years old | 51 lbs

My Story

York was abandoned at an animal shelter by his previous owner. After some time, York finally got noticed by another adopter who took him home. However, York was mistreated again. The family complained about his age and irresponsibly abandoned him in another shelter. York deserves better. He's a sweet dog with so much potential to be a great family dog.

My Personality

York is a little shy with strangers at first, especially if the stranger has big body movements. We recommend strangers to approach him slowly and he will soon open up to you. York gets a little anxious if he's left alone in the room, so we think he would do great with another dog in the family. With company, his anxiety goes away. He's fully potty trained and won't pee or pooh inside the house. He's great with household furniture, no habit of bitting or chewing. York loves a good tummy rub. He loves to come close and ask for attention. York loves to eat, he's treat motivated and can easily gain trust that way. He's also great with the leash and loves the water.
